Perfect surfaces with NoCoat products: the highest level of production quality and VOC-free certification
NoCoat, a Surfaces Group company which produces the most innovative solutions on the market for ceramic and stone surface treatment, has held VOC FREE CLASS A+ certification for its Metpick and Metclean product ranges for some time.
VOCs, or Volatile Organic Compounds, contribute to the formation of ozone in the lower atmosphere. High levels of tropospheric ozone not only damage the environment, but are also harmful to humans, causing nose and throat irritation as well as respiratory problems.
The presence of volatile organic compounds is quantified through VOC tests. This is how the level of VOC emissions harmful to human health which can be released by a material in a closed environment is measured. The results from testing of NOCOAT products shows that they contain no toxic substances, such as formaldehyde and benzene for example, whatsoever. As such, the products are classified with the highest level of safety for human health and the environment: CLASS A+.
This important certification has been issued by a third party and carried out in accordance with the standard EN ISO 16000-9:2006; it attests the total safety for both consumers and the environment of NoCoat’s treatment products.
In recent years, NoCoat has expanded its research and development, coming up with solutions which work in synergy with lapping and honing tools, and that guarantee the highest standards. The positive consequence of this is the significant growth in productivity, expressed as an increase in top grade production: the treatment, as well as its dirt repellent functions, also enhances the aesthetic aspects, reducing any streaking or microscratches.
NoCoat products are therefore not just protective products, but more than ever represent complete treatments which add a perfect aesthetic finish to the impressive technical properties (porosity saturation, impermeability, strength, non-slip).
Treatment-tool synergy is the advantage which sets NoCoat brand products apart; they combine effectiveness and efficiency, allowing for:
- Increased levels of high grade products from production lines.
- The possibility to protect and enhance the various finishes: gloss, supergloss and matt.
- The development of customised solutions by system type, surface and required finish.
Surfaces are tough and polished, but also smooth, uniform – in short, beautiful.
The importance of these treatments is even clearer with current finish trends, which increasingly lean towards dark, matt effects, which become absolutely perfect with NoCoat treatments.
The current trend for XXL formats has also completely released the shackles on ceramics, which are now becoming an essential interior design element not only for flooring, but also for walls and kitchen worktops.
This latter usage will only increase the need to guarantee the total safety of such surfaces. For this reason, NoCoat has already begun the certification processes.
“Knowing it is not enough for us,” says Giuseppe Soli, CEO of NoCoat Spa. “We have chosen to begin a certification process in order to ratify this important milestone and let the market know about it in the most effective manner. It is a long and costly process which has been taking up our energies for some time, but we are conscious that it is a fundamental and increasingly necessary step in order to differentiate our products and guarantee the highest levels of protection for people and the environment.”
The company is in the process of obtaining MOCA certification, which tests food-contact materials to ensure greater protection for consumers.
“We will also certify the unchangeability of surfaces in all daily interactions,” Soli continues. “Indeed, if we place foodstuffs on a worktop – from the most neutral such as bread, to the most reactive such as lemon juice, we want to be able to certify that these products will remain completely intact and will not be subject to alteration on contact with surfaces protected and treated with NoCoat products.”
Safe and eco-friendly, the best practices that NoCoat is developing set it apart from other competitors. At present, there is nothing safer than a NOCOAT protective product.
