OUR BEST PRACTICES CODE STARTS NOW! January is the month for: HEALTH & WELL-BEING
Surfaces Group is a large industrial organisation aware of its strategic role in building a new business model and a new way of life.
It has decided to actively embrace its responsibilities as a major producer, intrinsically linked to the surrounding environment, through best practices ranging from the promotion of good lifestyle choices to the implementation of innovative, sustainable industrial processes.
We welcome 2022 with the determination to make this symbiosis of business, innovation and sustainability explicit to all.
The YES WE CARE – A HAND TO THE FUTURE 2022 project is thus the opportunity to assess where we stand, with a focus on 12 different themes as the basis for common reflection and for sharing new behaviours and building new prospects for growth.
We have decided to set a different theme for every month, to keep the level of attention strong and to underline our commitment to building a new normal in accordance with the new business model based on the 3 Ps: People, Planet and Profit, the “triple bottom line” of the 21st century.
SURFACES is dedicating the month of JANUARY to a focus on HEALTH and WELL-BEING
This pandemic has taught us the fundamental importance of guaranteeing health standards in indoor spaces and of working to ensure that production methods protect not just people but the environment as well.
In the health and well-being area of its “Yes We Care – A hand to the future” project, Surfaces Group is committed to actively improving conditions in its offices, laboratories and plants.
As a business player, and leader in surface finishing treatments, it also promotes technological applications that effectively support this new perspective also from the production point of view.
SAFE, SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION FROM THE NOCOAT TREATMENTS
In the area of chemical products for the treatment and protection of surfaces, the Surfaces Group NoCoat brand has introduced a change in outlook that combines efficacy, safety and sustainability, through its certified solutions.
GLOSS, SUPERGLOSS AND ZEROGLOSS ENHANCE SURFACES’ FUNCTIONS: LOVELY, HARD-WEARING, WATER-REPELLENT, ANTI-SLIP AND ALSO SAFE, WITH ANTIBACTERIAL FORMULA
Even in pre-Covid times, NoCoat was already developing its products in line with the toughest regulations to obtain safe treatments, certified MOCA (suitable for food contact) and VOC free.
MOCA (food contact) certification confirms that surfaces are immune even to potentially reactive foodstuffs such as citrus, tomatoes, vinegar or wine. Not only is the worktop undamaged but, more importantly, it does not cause any changes in foods which directly contact it.
What’s more, VOC Free certification certifies the absence of Volatile Organic Compounds such as formaldehyde and benzene, potentially harmful for people and the environment. In fact, they contribute to the formation of ozone in the lower atmosphere.
In the Antibacterial Formula range, the traditional Gloss, SuperGloss and ZeroGloss treatments not only guarantee the desired shiny or satin finish but are also enhanced with nanoparticles of Silver (AG) and nanocompounds that neutralise pathogens such as viruses, fungi, molds and microorganisms on surfaces.
This means that a single treatment provides dual protection, against both wear and bacteria, since the filling of the surface pores also contains particles that combat pathogen formation.
Tests have proven:
- efficacy in all lighting conditions (sunlight, LEDs, artificial lighting) even with low intensity
- a significant reduction in bacterial load, constant over time, with 99.99% efficacy
