FLEXITE TECHNOLOGY SURFACES, THE MATT FINISHING EVERYONE WANTS
Matt, intensely matt! This is the latest trend for ceramic surfaces: matt slabs with a tactile, silky feel. For creating sophisticated interiors with a tasteful elegance. In line with this trend, finishing processes are being developed to create extremely smooth, satiny surfaces.
Surfaces Group, opinion leader in ceramic finishes, now offers its latest solution, the FLEXITE TECHNOLOGY. A new category of slab finishing tools, comprising two ranges. FLEXITE C (silicon carbide) & FLEXITE D (diamond).
FLEXITE D creates a flat, uniform surface on the ceramic product. It has a high stock removal rate, even at high speeds, combined with a high degree of binder elasticity. This allows the calibration even of surfaces which are not perfectly flat or have internal structuring.
FLEXITE C, developed and used as a finishing tool, is able to complete the calibration process already performed with FLEXITE D, to create an extremely clean, soft-touch surface. The degree of satin finishing can be varied by modifying the sequence of grain sizes used.
FLEXITE satin finishing tools are produced in various sizes, suitable for XL ceramic slabs or smaller surfaces, in a wide range of grain sizes to achieve any degree of finishing, with 3 different binder hardnesses, to suit surface roughness levels. The lapping and matt finishing procedure can also be performed on glazed, technical and colour-body porcelain stoneware up to 20/30 mm thick, thanks to its ability to follow the contours of surfaces.
The satin finishing technology is based on clearly defined concepts and tool quality is crucial in achieving an excellent rather than a mediocre result. The outcomes achieved with FLEXITE C&D tools have exceeded all expectations. They are the result of the successful combination of constant investment in applied research, thanks to state-of-the-art technology labs, and the curiosity of people always in tune with the market’s latest demands. In short: Surfaces Group.
